the start of something sweet

Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog! A quick introduction from me- My name’s Amanda Carmack. I am 23 years old (soon to be 24 on October 19th, where’s my Libras at?!). I’m a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy who has an insane passion (okay, maybe obsession) with baking and all things sweet, who just so happens to find herself in a small desert town by the name of Twentynine Palms, California for the next three years. I grew up in a small Mid-Missouri town named Malta Bend. It was a boasting town with a whopping 249 people (detected: sarcasm). I spent my last few years at home growing up on a farm outside of town. It was quiet and peaceful and if you told my 17 year old self that I would miss that one day, she would have told you that you are insane but my now 23 year old self would believe every bit of that and then some. I’m engaged to the most amazing man a woman could ever ask for- aka my test taster. I assure you he doesn’t mind. I have dreams of opening a bakery when I leave the Navy life behind but until then, this blog will do. I will be posting recipes and photos of things I bake, both the good and bad- because life is NOT perfect regardless of what Instagram wants us to think. 😉 Thanks for reading and I hope you’re all as excited to share in this blog journey as I am.
